3Y0E - News Update

On the 23rd of December Rhy ZS6DXB and Petrus 3Y0E had a conversation via satellite phone. It has emerged that two days ago a fierce windstorm hit the camp and they have lost 2 tents. Petrus reported that they had a wind chill factor of -30 degrees Celsius. The antenna and radio equipment has survived the storm. We can also confirm that Petrus has been calling CQ on 20 meters (14 MHz) for the past couple of days. He is currently active between 15:00 to 17:00z; these times are a conclusion of activity over the last couple of days and can change without notice.
Petrus has also reported that he has not logged any stations in the logbook yet as he could not hear any stations reply to him. If you hear Petrus calling CQ please ensure that he confirms your call before you clear with him and if it is possible to record the QSO even better. Please forward these recordings to the pilot station Rhy ZS6DXB via e-mail. We need to remember that Petrus has got limited HF experience and we all will need to assist him as far as possible.
So as conclusion the spots on the cluster over the last couple of days are 100% true but we have to report that Petrus could not hear you reply to him and thus have not logged the calls in his logbook.

27dec2007 around 1600z heard several times calling CQ.
Several stations answered but no replay.
Apparently was working simplex on 14305.
I tried a call at 14305 and at 14310 but not lucky.
Thanks to Petrus for the effort.

I would really like to QSO with 3Y0E . Please email me when it will be possible. 14300 SSB or CW would be excellent.
Thanks,
