3Y0E - Press Release #5

10 January 2008
It is fair to say that Petrus ZS6GCM has created a great deal of excitement with his operation as 3Y0E within a number of Amateur Radio operator circles around the world. The 3Y0E.com website has received over 16 000 unique visitors with over 50 000 page views since December 19.
Petrus has been making remarkable progress with a great number of lucky hams in his logbook and he is getting better at working pileups and numbers day by day. He continues to be active on 20m when time permits.
Following a great number of e-mails and a lot of hard work from the support team behind 3Y0E reality hit us in the face! All the equipment that Petrus is currently using is sponsored equipment and it will need to be returned on his return home. What will happen on his next research trip to an extreme and rare place in the world? So as a thank you we thought we’d start a donation fund for him, where upon his return we can set up proper radio kit for his next trip which is just around the corner, with some decent antennas, radio and amplifier!
Bouvet Island is, of course, one of the top five most wanted DXCC’s. Without Petrus being there, we dare say in the coming years, Bouvet could top the charts again…
This is our way to say thank you to our dear friend Petrus ZS6GCM who is making 3Y0E a reality!
If you would like to make a donation please visit the website at http://3y0e.com/and follow the easy steps
