One Response to “Polish Radio 1 to inform about 3Y0E”

  1. Translation from Polish to English by Wes, SP2DX:

    Bieszczady.pl transmitting via Radio Rzeszów
    Starting from next Saturday, January 12th, 2007, for the next two weeks of Carpathian winter holidays, Radio Rzeszow will stay for good in Bieszczady.

    In late morning broadcasts from Friday to Saturday you will be able to hear many regional news items, interviews with interesting persons and to hear transmissions from regional events.

    We invite you to listen to our appearances around 11:15, in which the ‘Bieszczady.pl’ website will have its part – the site administrator Stanislaw (Stan) Strzyzewski will report live the weather forecast and interesting news from the south-east corner of Poland.
    The first appearance on the air on January 12th took place from an unusual locality. Listen to a fragment of the broadcast and look at the pictures:

    [My comment: One of the pictures shows Stan SQ8AQD with colleagues and it has the following description:
    “So the first appearance ‘on the air’ in Radio Rzeszow came into being. From the left: the admin of ‘Bieszczady.pl’ and station correspondent Stan Strzyzewski (his call-sign is SQ8AQD), Peter (SQ9DIE) and Kasia (Kate).”
    {The picture shows: a long table with 3 laptops, an IC 746PRO with a Heil microphone, another HF rig [I see no telegraph key, though – SP2DX]}

    Information from “qrz.com” says about Stan SQ8AQD that he is working now as a free-lance correspondent and co-operates with the Regional broadcasting station Radio Rzeszow, which covers the outmost south-east corner of Poland near the Ukrainian and Slovakian borders and where the beautiful and relatively uncivilized Bieszczady mountains are located [SP2DX].

    For more information about Stan SQ8AQD, see http://www.qrz.com.

    January 16th 2008, Wes SP2DX
