News - 3Y0E Update

18 January 2008

Following the initial press release today, Petrus 3Y0E and Rhy ZS6DXB had a conversation via Satellite phone. Petrus has confirmed that he was listening on 14.260 MHz and heard some other activity, Rhy suggested to Petrus that he then tries either 10 KHz up or 10 KHz down. If there is some activity on 14.260MHz Petrus 3Y0E will be active in the region of 14.260MHz working split…

Petrus has also confirmed that there is no work on the Island this weekend and he will have a lot of time for the radio, so he might even be active the entire weekend. Stations wanting to work 3Y0E are advised to stay close to their radios this weekend as he might pop up, any time on the band. Should there be any other emerging news from Petrus 3Y0E the 3y0e.com website will be updated immediately!

We are also looking forward to another letter from Petrus in the next couple of days that will be published under the “Letters from Bouvet” link on the 3y0e.com website. The online logbook has also received another update, for stations that have worked Petrus please make sure that you are in the online logbook!

We would like to wish all good luck in working 3Y0E this weekend!
