Propagation to EU at the time of our qso is difficult but you were peaking up to S5 several times. This allowed to copy you simplex despite many others were still calling during your transmissions.

The QRM during the pileup was not all that bad for someone this rare. My gripe was the constant callers that kept on hog calling even though he would come back to someone. I am seeing more and more of this lately. Possibly he came back to you initially but did not hear your report so you didn’t make it into the log.

Russ, your exactly right the qrm wasn’t bad at the time. I was just lumping qrmers in with bootleggers. Report was 5X5 both ways, and the audio clip of 3Y0E matchs my recollection almost perfect.&as far as hog callers?!?!.!!!!!!….J5C on 75M??!!!!
